My Creative Writing Exercise.
Exercise 4
They divorced over a pink sweater. He never did the wash. He never cleaned the kitchen. He never babysat the kids. One day, she was so frazzled that she asked him to do the laundry. He wrecked her crisp white blouse when he washed it with a pair of blue jeans.
Neither of them owned pink clothing. His co-worker, however, had a beautiful red dress which she routinely wore to work. She also wore this dress to the company luncheon, where the wife met all her husband’s co-workers.
One day, the wife was on vacation with her girlfriends and the husband had a business meeting. He and the woman in the red dress were the last to leave the conference room. He bumped into her, accidentally touching her breasts. They made eye contact. He went for it and kissed her.
"My wife won't be back till Thursday," he said.
The kids were at a sleepover, and the husband had a sleepover of his own. In the morning, he threw his co-worker's dress in the washing machine.
It turned out that his wife got back early. All the warning he had was a text message, so as soon as they heard, the co-worker quickly left, red dress in tow. The husband was nervous. The wife was excited to see him.
Then she saw the pink sweater. Her husband never did laundry. That was the final straw.
